I'm often asked what kind of photographer I am, and I never seem to have a one word answer. For me, a camera is my way to decode the world, open doors, start conversations, and tell stories. My best photos always have a conversation behind them. I'm terribly curious and use that to get people talking, and listen to put them at ease.
I always want to connect with what's in front of me.
Being a perpetual student is one of my favorite parts of my job. There’s no technology that can beat natural light and a genuine smile. The less gear, the more true the image. Getting to know and like the people I’m working with is always a part of my strongest work.
I don’t try to determine what’s important; I like to discover it.
